This year our year groups are arranged in the following phases:
Themes & Enrichment
We like to offer our children a diverse range of activities which broaden their culture experiences.
Alongside our core subjects we follow a theme based curriculum which usually runs on a two-year cycle. Our themes are based on Creative Curriculum ideas from the brilliant Chris Quigley.
For 2018/19 our themes will be:
Coral Reef - Cracking ideas, Alice in Wonderland, Lost and found, Where the Wild things are, Seaside, Australian Adventure
Oceans, Year 2 - From Farm to Fork, Great & Ghastly Events, Amazing Places & Spaces
Oceans - Year 3 - Art-Bot, Buildings, Eurovision
Explorers - Rich & Poor, Transport
We run out outdoor time using the High Scope principle of Plan, Do, Review. Our team plan an exciting and varied range of activities, using ideas from the children and curriculum objectives. Children then select an activity - their plan. We encourage them to stick with their plan and then to review how it went at the end of Outdoor time. This supports them in developing new skills and helps them learn to reflect on their achievements and set personal challenges.
